This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.
Overview
Mining operations typically produce a great deal of waste rock of various sizes from both the extraction of material as well as the refinement or beneficiation, of the mineral of interest. The Seeker produces several million tons of this waste material each year and currently must store the waste in large piles near the mine site. This incurs costs related to its transportation and disposal as well as environmental taxes, and therefore the Seeker would like to explore cost-effective options and technologies for the utilization of this material with a focus on its use in construction and road-building.
Submissions to this Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM (US Eastern Time) on November 18, 2019.
