DTEK Challenge: Increasing the Number of Electric Vehicles on the Road

Posted October 2, 2019

Electric vehicles (EVs) are an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional cars with internal-combustion engines. Despite growing interest, the rate of adoption is not as rapid as energy providers would like. To improve the profitability of EV charging infrastructure, DTEK is searching for creative and actionable solutions to increase the popularity of EVs.

This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.

A number of barriers prevent the widespread purchase and use of electric vehicles. Among other things, consumers often worry about the initial purchase cost, battery life duration, and access to charging stations. Compounding the problem, charging infrastructure is only worth installing if there is sufficient demand. In order to justify the business potential, DTEK is looking for methods to significantly increase the number of EVs within Ukraine in a span of one year.

Submissions to this Challenge must be received by 11:59 PM (US Eastern Time) on October 24, 2019.
