Perhaps being one of the most well-known DVD ripping software on the market, DVD Shrink has been around for quite a while now and perfectly fulfills what it promises: compressing DVDs.

It can pick up double-layer DVDs, which go easily from the standard 4.7GB of ordinary DVDs, and compress them as much as possible to fit into a single media file.

To use DVD Shrink, simply select the disc of which video will be grabbed from Open Disc and select which audio and subtitles you want to come with the output file. After that, just click on Backup to start the process.

DVD Shrink has other features that make life easier for those who want to save even more space in extracting videos from DVDs. With it, you can discard unnecessary parts of video as well as convert the file output to WMV, MP4, AVI, MOV and MKV.
