One Hand Drone Controller

Posted October 31, 2016

A new campaign is crowdfunding a project where drone can be flown with a single hand using a stick and thumb ring. It is an easier and more intuitive way to control a drone for novices. The drone itself carries a 4K camera that shoots 13-megapixel stills, 8 GB of onboard memory and 30 minutes of flight time.

The controller is a short fat stick that you hold in one hand and slide your thumb through a ring on top. By moving your thumb around you can then guide the drone through the air: push the direction and drone flies to that direction. There is also separate toggle on the front to change the drone’s orientation with your index finger.

The controller is said to be compatible with some already existing drones. The project is already funded on the Kickstarter and reached its funding goal of $50.000 with 19 days remaining. The promo video is below.
