Everyone who rides motorcycles knows how many apps there are available specifically for these people. However, most of them are created by other fellow bikers, without involvement of big motorcycle manufacturers. Now BMW Motorrad introduced an app, which is meant to unite motorcyclists from all over the world.

For this goal BMW Motorrad has partnered with a technology company Rever, which is fairly new. Back in 2015 Rever set out to become a platform for the riders to share the world’s best roads, create custom routes, track rides and share riding experiences across social media platforms. Now BMW stepped into this game to help creating a global community of motorcyclists.

For many it may seem unnecessary to have any smart technology while going on long motorcycle trips. Bikers are usually seen as rough and tough personalities, but special apps may help with their journeys. Heiner Faust, Vice President Sales and Marketing of BMW Motorrad, said: “We see the future of motorcycling as a connected experience, one that has riders using the latest technology to enhance their rides and allow others to share their passion for riding. Rever is offering a very promising mobile technology in our industry and we are very excited about the future business potential we see together with Rever”.

Motorcyclists are always extremely passionate about their hobby. However, they lack an environment to share their experiences globally. Rever set out to unite and help them. It is a simple app and a website. It helps bikers to plant their journeys by offering simple planning tools. It also helps bikers to find people to ride with and places to travel to. Furthermore, Rever app allows riders to track their trip, even if one is a hard-core enthusiasts racing on a track. Finally, it allows sharing these emotions easily to other social networks. But the best thing that it is free – only the premium services have to be paid for.

It is likely that in the future there will be more and more special apps for motorcyclists. Support from a major motorcycle manufacturer shows that smart technologies are viewed as an integral part of the contemporary motorcycle experience. Therefore, specialized applications are going to take over even this hobby with very deep traditions.
