Chinese computer maker MeLE has been offering small Android and Windows computers and recently has unveiled a PC-on-a-stick that runs Ubuntu Linux, powered by Intel Atom Z3735F processor with 1 to 2GB RAM and 32 GB flash.
The TV stick is a variation of PCG02 TV stick running Windows 10, but featuring an Ubuntu orange case, and running Ubuntu 14.04. The company has now launched the 2GB RAM version for $69.99 shipped on their Aliexpress store.
The tiny computer measures about 4.5″ x 1.9″ x 0.65″ and has the same basic specs as the first-generation Intel Compute Stick:
- Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core Bay Trail processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 32GB of eMMC storage
- 802.11b/g/n WiFi
- USB 2.0 and microUSB ports
- microSD card slot
- HDMI connector
Like most stick PCs, the PCG02U is an incredibly efficient, consuming just 12W of power. That’s due in large part to the Intel BayTrail Atom Z3735F chip that handles processing duties, that is clocked at 1.33GHz and can burst up to 1.8GHz.
