Open Source Router With Integrated Virtual Server

Posted December 1, 2015

The Turris Omnia is an open source router with an OpenWrt-based OS that lets you do anything you could do with a desktop Linux system. It can handle gigabit traffic and can be used as a home server, NAS, printserver and it even has a virtual server built-in.

With integrated virtual server you can do anything you want, starting from an OwnCloud or Tonido instance or an encrypted chat host.

Turris Omnia also has SIM card slot, RTC with battery backup, crypto chip for secure random number generation.

A standard USB port allows you to connect an external hard drive for easy network attached storage, or you can plug in a USB Internet stick to use as a failover connection. It has an integrated SFP connector that allows you directly connect a fiber optic cable.

The project campaign is fully crowdfunded on Indiegogo. You can get it for the $189.
