What are we Looking For?
At NN, we have been producing precision steel balls since our foundation. Our Metal Bearing Components produces approximately 7 billion balls per year, ranging in size from 3mm to 90mm diameter. You could find our balls in a wide range of applications including automotive, aerospace, medical, general industry electronics. Inside almost anything that rolls, you can find a ball.
Despite the fact that the traditional material is steel, modern technologies allow other materials to be introduced, such as silicon nitride ceramic, glass, plastic and more.
As the world continues to change, every day presents the opportunity for a new possible application for our products. For this reason, we are looking for any possible, practicable and new application for precision balls.
Developing Your Idea
Now it’s time to develop your idea. But first, let us better explain some details. Your challenge is to submit an idea for a new or different application for precision balls.
You can choose to build upon one of our current applications or develop something completely new. In addition to being innovative and providing clear customer benefits, the idea should also be realistic and suitable to implement. All solutions should also be financially, industrially, environmentally and socially sustainable.
The #thenextsphere contest is presented by NN, Inc. Metal Bearing Components Group – Global Balls Division and is hosted by Sqore. The contest deadline is January 31, 2016. Winners will be contacted in March 2016.
