The game, created by Professor David Coley of the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, is about average everyday household objects and their energy consumption. In the game you will need to compare pairs of objects and click on the one that you think typically consumes more energy over a year, taking into account both the power consumption of the object in one hour and the number of hours in a year it might be operated.
The entire game takes no more than 5 minutes and at the end it will compute your score using some clever mathematics and help you share it with your friends! The game is part of the ENLITEN project and the results will be used as part of their research on understanding energy use in the home.
The results will be used as part of an energy efficiency research project which secured a grant of £1.5 million from the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council in 2012. You can read more about the project here.
