The Nipper is the smallest phone charger using a pair of AA batteries. It is small enough for you to carry it around and relies household AA batteries that are available everywhere. It was primarily designed for emergency use.
The Nipper is a tiny 17mm x 17mm x 17mm cube and it weighs just 10g and is designed to fit on your keyring.
The Nipper currently works with any phone or other device with a micro-USB connector. It will be developed a version compatible with the iPhone. For a smartphone, it will give an extra 10% battery capacity in 30 minutes, and 20% in just over an hour.
It contains 3 neodynium magnets that holds the batteries together while at the same time making an electrical connection to the circuit board. This circuit is called a boost converter, it turns the power from the batteries into a 5v power supply.
The project campaign is fully funded on the Kickstarter and reached its funding goal of $6.000, the early bird pricing are gone, but you can still get it for $15, an estimated delivery is on April of 2016.
