A Modular Smartphone Case

Posted May 4, 2015

Nexpaq is a smartphone case that allows you to easily customize, enhance, and add features to your smartphone through the case. Adding and removing physical “modules”  directly from the back of your case without powering down the smartphone. You can charge your phone with add-on memory, battery capacity, an amplified speaker, and more. The case has a built-in battery power to boot (1000 mAh).

The case works across multiple generations of phones, it has a full module compatibility between iOS and Android smartphones. You can use your modules on different smartphones and even on future smartphones that are not yet released.

The existing projects, like Google’s Project Ara or Phonebloks, offer the idea of a modular smartphone, whereas Nexpaq runs with existing devices.

The project is on the Kickstarter and has already reached its funding goal of $50,000. The case and 4 modules cost $109 and estimated delivery is on January of 2016.
