Facebook Pay Allows To Send Money To Friends

Posted March 18, 2015

Facebook introduced free friend-to-friend payments through Messenger. A new feature gives people a convenient and secure way to send and receive money between friends on social network. This feature will be rolling out over the coming months in the US across Android, iOS, and desktop devices.

People will have to register their debit card, once set up, they’ll be able to tap a dollar icon within a conversation, and enter the desired amount of money to send. It may take one to three business days to make the money available to you depending on the bank.

Facebook encrypts the connection between user and its card information. The payment systems are kept in a secured environment that is separate from other parts of the Facebook network. A team of anti-fraud specialists monitor for suspicious purchase activity to help keep accounts safe.
