Starbucks Launches Mobile Order & Pay in Portland

Posted December 5, 2014

In Portland, Oregon Starbucks launched a mobile app to order and pay for the coffee and food. There is no need to wait in line, you just enter to the nearest Starbucks and grab your order and go.

Store locations appear based on the GPS functionality of a customer’s smartphone. Customers will be asked to accept location services allowing Starbucks to identify the nearest location for the first time you run the app. GPS location can tell the expected travel time for you to get to the Starbucks in time for your coffee to still be hot.

At the moment the app is designed for the iOS platforms and will be available for the Androids as well.
