Microsoft has removed fake Google Apps from Windows Phone Store. The news was spotted by TNW wherein Microsoft decided to remove the six fake Google apps 1. Hangouts 2. Google Voice 3. Gmail app 4. Google Search 5. Google+ 6. Google Maps from the Windows Phone Store.

All these apps were published under the name of Google Inc. and are priced at $1.99 each. The only app that Google offers for Windows Phone is its search app, and the publisher is “Google Inc.” These fradulent apps were first noticed by WinBeta this morning, after being originally published yesterday, reported TNW.

But it raises a question that how these apps were allowed to pass, as Microsoft strictly does not allows the infringement of intellectual property of others.

Later a Microsoft spokesperson told TNW that, “We removed a series of apps for violating our policies concerning the use of misleading information.”“The apps attempted to misrepresent the identity of the publisher.”
