Microsoft planning to make Indian born Satya Nadella as next CEO

According to Bloomberg Microsoft’s board is planning to make Satya Nadella as the next CEO of the company. He will replace departing CEO Steve Ballmer, 57, people familiar with the situation said plans aren’t final yet. The board is also planning to replace Bill Gates as chairman, Bloomberg added through sources. John Thompson presently lead independent director is the board’s choice to replace Gates as chairman.

According to sources even if Gates steps down as chairman, he may be more involved in the company, said two people familiar with the matter, particularly in areas like product development. Satya Nadella currently is the executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group, responsible for building and running the company’s computing platforms, developer tools and cloud services.
