Red Hat Reports 15% Increase In Revenues

Red Hat, an icon of open source business, reported $397 million as total revenue for the quarter. It’s an increase of 15% in U.S. dollars from the year ago quarter.

“Strong demand in Q3 for our core Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Middleware technologies led to results that exceeded guidance across several key financial metrics,” stated Jim Whitehurst, President and Chief Executive Officer of Red Hat.

The company’s subscription revenue for the quarter was $343 million, up 17% in U.S. dollars year-over-year.

Red Hat is the world’s leading Open Source company which also sponsors the Fedora Project which is the base of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Red Hat also leads the development of core open source technologies including the Linux kernel.
