Now you can Chromecast Google Play Music and Play Movies from the web easily

Chromecast keeps getting better, Google Play Music and Play Movies got optimized and now you can cast to your TV from the web easily. This might come in handy when you are using your PC and you are too lazy to grab your smartphone or tablet to do the job.

Earlier you could cast Play Music and Play Movies easily through a smartphone or tablet, but you had go searching for options to cast from the web, now Google has made things easier and placed the cast button right in the web player. You need to have Google cast extension installed on your Chrome browser for this function to work. Once done, you can just click the cast icon and your music or movies would instantly play on your Chromecast powered TV.

With holiday season just few days away, Google has brought Chromecast support for as many as ten new apps. Earlier Chromecast had support for Netflix, HBO Go, Hulu Plus, Pandora, YouTube, Google Play Movies and Music, now Google has taken the apps tally to total 17 apps.

The new apps that has joined the Chromecast team are :

  • Red Bull.TV
  • Songza
  • PostTV
  • Viki
  • Revision 3
  • BeyondPod
  • Plex
  • Avia
  • RealPlayer Cloud
