ZMP Inc started to accept orders for a light-weight wireless electrocardiograph and ship it.
The weight of the electrocardiograph, “ZMP ECG2,” is about 15g including a battery.” Measurement can be started just by attaching its main body equipped with electrodes to the chest and pressing a button. It is expected to be used for obtaining biological information in the field of medical and biological engineering and running an electrocardiogram on an auto driver.
Equipped with a three-axis acceleration sensor and temperature sensor, the the ZMP ECG2 enables to remotely record the user’s posture and motion. The range of the three-axis acceleration sensor can be set between ±2g and ±16g. With separately-sold software, it can perform heart-rate variability analysis.
The sampling rate of the ZMP ECG2 is 256Hz, which is higher than that of the company’s previous product (204Hz), so that it can obtain more detailed data. It can continuously record an electrocardiogram for 72 hours (42 hours with the previous product) with one button battery (CR2032) because ZMP reduced power consumption by using its own communications protocol.
When it is used only for running an electrocardiogram, it can be continuously used for about 120 hours. For wireless data communication, the 2.4GHz frequency band is used.
The price of the ZMP ECG2 is ¥398,000 (approx US$4,052) for general users and ¥248,000 for academic users.
